About

Post Partum Massage

Caring for your newborn while you’re recovering from birth can be overwhelming.  Remember, you can’t give what you don’t have!  So it is important to the health of your baby that you take care of their Momma – YOU!  You not only deserve some TLC, you NEED it.  You’re most likely not getting enough sleep with all the time your investing in nurturing your new baby, you’re achy and just not “feeling like yourself”.

How soon should you begin receiving post partum massage?  If you’ve had a vaginal delivery, you can begin as soon as you’re comfortable.  It’s recommended to receive at least three sessions during the first four months to speed your body’s recovery, however, you should come as often as possible!  This is a special time for your body and we are here to support your healing and recovery.

If you’ve delivered your new baby via C-Section, you are also dealing with recovering from major abdominal surgery and we’re here to help support you.  Ideally, you should begin receiving post partum/scar massage 10-20 weeks after delivery, however it’s never too late!  The techniques we utilize have helped with scars over 20 years old.  Often these “old” scars have been causing problems and within a few sessions, the improvement is remarkable.

Also included in your massage is a warm lava sand pack filled with a blend of herbs which will bring warmth to the uterus, which will support it returning to its pre-pregnancy size, expel excess fluids and relieve tense muscles.

What Our Clients Have to Say…

“Anita is the best. I have been to lots of massage therapists and Anita is great. She spends the time in dealing with your specific issues and does it in a way that makes you feel relaxed and great even after a deep tissue massage. I would highly recommend her.”

Lynne W.

My husband decided to give me a just-because prenatal massage, and so began my google search for prenatal massage in Riverview. I chose Anita because I wasn’t interested in the “spa experience” where you have to sit in a bathrobe and “relax” before your appointment that was scheduled 20 minutes ago. Anita works out of her home, making punctuality an obvious certainty and she cared very much about my experience with her. I chatted with her for a few minutes about my pregnancy and she explained to me that this is my massage, not hers. She encourages communication to ensure she’s working on the areas that you need worked on at a comfortable pressure. She leans towards a holistic approach to wellness and has a wealth of resources she is all too happy to share. Her goal is for you to leave feeling like that was exactly what you wanted. I’ll defintely be back. Thanks Anita!”
